LOOM is a nonprofit art and residency center that will operate on the third floor of the historic Summit Mill building in Philmont, New York.
LOOM is part of a larger effort to restore and transform the Summit Mill site into a cultural and event center for artists, audiences, and the surrounding community. Construction is scheduled to begin this fall.
As the building enters this next phase, LOOM will begin developing programs, partnerships, and public activities both during and after construction. We invite you to stay connected as the project takes shape.
MISSION LOOM transforms a historic factory into a working art center where production, community, and care are inseparable. We create compelling exhibitions, residencies, and gatherings that connect artists, neighbors, and audiences near and far.
VISION LOOM is a factory for ideas guided with care, built by hand, and rooted in the local. Here, creativity becomes a way of reimagining how we engage with each other through art and collective practice. We are building something rare: a model for what an art center can be when it is rooted deeply, made carefully, and opened generously.
